Area & Perimeter Word Problems — Mixed

Solve each problem. Area: A = l × w — when a side is missing, read it as a multiplication equation with an unknown factor. Perimeter: P = 2 × (l + w).

ExampleA rectangular sports field has an area of 636 ft². One side is 12 ft long. How long is the other side?
A = l × w, so 636 = 12 × x → x = 636 ÷ 12 = 53 ft
Answer: 53 ft
