Rational or Irrational?

Rational means it can be written as a fraction of two integers.

ExampleSort these into rational and irrational, and give a reason for each.
π    −7    0.101101110…    √25
Rational: −7, √25
Irrational: π, 0.101101110…
Why? π — π is irrational — 227 and 3.14 are approximations, not equal to it.; −7 — −7 is an integer, so it is −71.; 0.101101110… — the pattern grows and never settles into a repeat, so it is irrational.; √25 — 25 is a perfect square, so √25 = 5.
